Recently replaced freeze plug on my 70. This required removing the starter. When I reinstalled the starter, nothing was happening. I've checked all my wiring and everything is like it was when I took it off.
Any ideas.
Is there power to the rest of the car? Do you get nothing nothing, not even a solenoid clicK? Do all your accessories come on inside? This is most likely a wiring issues obviously, if everything else works pull the starter again and just check the wires again, if need be bench test the starter, but again - this is likely a wiring issue.....

A bad ground or you got the two small wires switched?
I once bought a new Delco starter for my 73--old one was on the verge of going out. Installed new starter. Car would not start. Checked wiring, etc. etc. and spent many perplexed hours scratching my head. Finally gave up and had car towed in to mechanic. He determined that the new Delco starter was "bad". He got a new starter. Problem solved. Lesson learned.
I agree with all the above recommendations. Triple check wiring and connections--and that battery is charge, plus check the battery terminal connections---then take starter in for a test if car will still not start.
This type of C3 problem happens to me all the time--I replace a floormat and car will not start!
Do let us know what the problem is when you find it.

Had the same thing on my DD. It's not something you thing about checking. The relay (or switch) keeps the engine from cranking unless the clutch is in. On autos, it's basically the same thing - the car must be in park or neutral in order the start.
The problem turned out to be a bad switch on the clutch relay.
Thanks for letting us know the problem I would never had checked that switch out; especially if the switch was working immediately prior to installing the new starter.
