Default 1970 question

My neighbor asked me to find out the rough value of his vette its 1970 green with Ttops its badged inside 350ci 300hp 300tq i believe. it has the original wheels, the interior is IMACULANT but the motor is froze up it was givin to him by the orignal owner, it was sitting in a garage for 16 years, and since my neighbor has had itit has been sitting for 10 years. So it has barely any miles on it. he just finished redoing the entire rear end assembly/brakes. its an automatic also. thanks guys! if there are any other details i need for a better guess just let me know i can find out!

Post some pics. That would really help.
If it's as nice as you say with just a seized original block then I'd say 7- 10K range. It will still need a fair amount of work to get it road worthy and safe.

Come on guys! Where's your Christmas Spirit?
With all the information given I'd say its worth $125.00.
ChargedC6,
It really takes a lot more description and information to come up with an idea of what a particular car may be worth. So tell us more, and, pictures always get more looks.
Regards,
Alan

man you guys are savages! excuse my spelling. but he rebuilt the rear end because thats what he wanted to do first. he is going to do the motor just started in the back. the car has been garaged its entire life coveredand the paint is good. i think a mirror is broken just from being in the garage for so long getting bumped around. ill try and get some pictures. he isnt selling it he is restoring it he was just curious of the value, he is a not computer savy and wanted me to get an idea.

When complete and running it is probably worth $13-16K. In order to get it running it will need an engine rebuild, trans rebuild, brakes, tires, suspension, gas tank, and anything that will make it safe and drivable. Paint should be done and that is why I priced it at that range. A good paint job would cost $6-8K and bring the value up to the mid $20's for a nicely restored 70 Corvette.

26 years of sitting in a garage will do a lot of damage to a car. Right now you have a good body and a decent interior and not much else. It is going to be a big job to do it right.

Lolts of discusion on value these days especially with the 13% one year increase in value from the guides on 70.

From the new price guides ( which some say are over inflated )
TLC = 11k , avg =21.3k, good = 28k show = 42k

for those who have been around the hobby longer, the 13-16k number for that year sounds about right, if on the lower end of the spectrum for my $.02, and depending on condition the upper end is in the 18-20k again depending on condition and any available documentation. Of course it could be worth more to someone willing to pay more, but that is speculation at best

Hello
If he is not going to sell the car it is worth want ever he thinks
I own a 70 & 71; i would never asked the forum what they are worth
if someone is buying it is worth nothing, if it was their car it would be worth 2X what they say yours is worth.
Time spent working on your car and enjoying what you have done is priceless.
You have head the saying" opinions are like Aholes everyone has one" just wanted to express my AH......i mean opinion
i had some bad rust in the windsheild frame on the 71 and some guys told me it should be a parts car.......they must of needed some parts

If you are thinking about buying that car, just consider all the posts on this thread before you jump. "AS IS" the car is only worth $5-8K, depending on the view of the buyer. There are lots of parts that can go bad just sitting...all rubber items (hoses, belts, joint seals, gaskets, etc, etc.), metal parts can rust tight (brakes, engine components)... Well, you get the idea. Anyway, if you can't fire it up and drive it, you have to assume those parts are bad...regardless of what the owner thinks. If the owner had the engine rebuilt and reinstalled so that it runs well and you can test out all of the operating systems....THEN the car would be worth $13-20K...again depending on the assessment of the buyer. Considering how long that piece has been sitting, most posters on this thread haven't been too harsh.
