I'm actually one of the original STL sharks and a charter member. Yes we do have a blast. I'm in contact with them every day. If anyone is interested, I'd be willing to volunteer my garage for a tech day, but it'll have to wait until June when I get back !

Oh..forgot to mention I have a 79 and a 72. 72 is being torn down for resto. I also have the 97 daily driver !

Dan, we could definitely get this thing rolling. I saw convertible tops down this weekend... I was driving my dad around and he didn't like the idea of following their example... I'll have it painted in January. I need to prep it a little more, but I hate taking it off the car. Anyways, the sometimes the Vette club will meet up for dinner or something. Last time we went to Brunetti's, but I was the only one who took my Vette.

i've read many posts about how bad(stringent might be better)the
state and local police have become in-tune with some tough auto laws.
is there any truth to it?
taking people to jail for excessive speeding?
very strict enforcement of corvette front plate law?
really heavy fines on residence?
............some posts remind of macon georgia of the 50's and 60's

Adam, just to rub it in, I finally figured out the secret to get mine to do a big burnout, I just wasn't hitting it hard enough, and nothing broke on mine! Just 2 beautiful black stripes.

Pete,

Congrat's on the burnout, pushing the gas all the way down does make a difference!

Yep, over 95 get's you a ride to jail.

Front plates are an unfortunate requirement (no USA-1 anymore).

Heavy fines should get overturned at this years general assemly (they snuck that one in last year).

On street racing, your car can become the property of the county.

Burnouts are usually automatic reckless but you can usually plea it down to inproper driving with a good lawyer.

So far I have been lucky but it is a matter of time till I screw up

We really nead a good road track in central Va!

Yea, I like PORTDAWG's tech day idea as well.

Unfortunately, I'm gone until July. When I get back, I'll organize it if you'd like.

I wouldn't mind making the trek to Richmond... I could def use opinions and ideas from other vette owners on my car. Yet to meet any REAL vette owners out here.

Oh, and on Christmas Eve, I did pull the T-tops and cruise. Had a Z06 come and try to get me to play, but not until I get my engine tuned and I'm really leary about fooling around with the new laws.

I'm guessing none of you are members of the Richmond Corvette Club.
Those that are interested should attend one of the meetings.
It's a large club but VERY active with many different participation events throughout the year.
Check out their website here

I got invited to join by a member, but I won't make it back until July. You'll see me after July though. Guaranteed.
