Recycling trans fluid question

Should automatic trans fluid be recycled with motor oil?

At least here the discount stores that take oil say no. It is harder to get rid of. Maybe try a transmission shop?

The recycling facility here in northern California does not require seperation of oil and tranny fluid. They said they pour them into the same barrel.

I do the same out here all the time..

Unless the tranny fluid is a synthetic type, it's still OIL.

Well up here in Canada, canadian tire takes engine oil. You just bring the bucket and they dont ask your name or anything, you just leave it at the service counter and leave. So youre gone before they even know what's actually in it

Dont know if its the same in your area though...
