I like this part:

"I plan on taking it to the Barrett Jackson Car Auction in Phoenix on the 12th if it does not sell here. It will bring 20,000.00 plus there."

and then another statement down:

"The very best I could possibly do, with the ebay fees for selling what they are is 15,900.00."

Now that's a truly stupid statement.

Obviously he's not familiar with Barrett Jackson's overhead.

I like that it is numbers matching but has new water pump, alternator, brake calipers, etc. I guess he didn't say date code matching.

So which is it? Did someone do a little fiberglass work and cut in vents like a 73, or did someone modify the whole front end of a 73 and slap on a new hood?

Unfortunately, someone is going to be mislead into buying this car.
well two things could have happened with this car... someone could have cut out the 70-72 louver holes and then molded in the 73 and up style which I have heard of before but just never seen. Or the vehicle could have been wrecked and some updates or modifications would have been made. There's a lot in changing from a steel bumper to a molded bumper... frame extensions and all are different... but really who knows what has happened and for sure this guy doesn't have a clue...

Where's Jim Carrey when you need him: "LOOO - ZERRRR !!!"

I like this part about the box o'crap he's selling. I quote:

The total price adds up to
over 100,000. 00
that our government
paid for all this stuff

Oooh! And you can have it all, for only $495 ! Btw, the $3 plastic box that the parts are in, is not included.

What a maroon !

He has that "Make offer" feature on the auction. We ought to all offer him .02 cents (except the shipping is $62.49 to my house. Darn.)

The seller of the 72/73? is just spouting what he was told when he bought it. I imagine that "story" netted the PO some extra buck$ because the present owner didn't know much about Corvettes...he just wanted one. I doubt that there is any intended fraud here. He just doesn't know any better...and he doesn't want to learn the truth--it would cost him sales doollar$. P.S. he'll probably sell it to someone with the same {poor} level of knowledge who won't care one bit about the difference. To each his/her own. I'm not passing judgement...at one time, every one of us were ignorant of Corvette details (way back when!).

Hey 7T1... this guy was an ***... see the above communication with him. I tried to be as nice as I could but he is selling it for his nephew and says that he worked at GM and he knows that late 1972 corvettes came without the side louvers... fraud lies and ignorance on this jerk's plate....

I'm waiting until he has a '73 LT-1; I'm sure it will be a one-of-a-kind-you-dont'-see-these-very-often car.

I don't believe that his guy is honest. If I were made aware of something in my ad that was not correct, I would investigate and change the ad if I was wrong. This guy is using tricky language and lies to get more for this car. It is a nice car, but I wouldn't buy from him. I know next to nothing about vettes, and knew something was not right with the vents. My gut feeling is that at some point, this car has been wrecked and had the front end replaced. If that is the case, then he should state that. That being said, anyone who would buy a car like this without flying to see it almost deserves what they get.

Hey, since this guy can get rare and unusual cars, can he get me a 76 with a factory 4-speed and factory 502ci with factory removable window???

Don't laugh. My 81 had removable glass for quite some time. i had trouble replacing the rails on the side windows and both would have fallen out if I hadn't lowered them. The windsheild had a split in it as well, so I suppose it qualified as a split window.

Guess I should have advertised both features when I sold it. My loss.

I hope he has Craig Jackson's personal cell phone number because he's not listed on the consignment list for Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday...I quit looking because no doubt when he shows up at the gate with no invite, that eggcrate delete option and detailed motor will win them over.

I can vaguely remember years ago, seeing in an Eckler's catalog 73 type side scoops to glass in 72 type egg-crate fenders. Or perhaps some-time in it's life a previous owner installed 73/74 fenders. Never the less I don't think the car came from Chevrolet that way.
