Default New toy.....

Well...I sold my 68 vert project, and doing a build on the car for another forum member,so...stay posted....
Here's what I purchased to replace my baby.Alittle different than what I am used to,but feel that I stole it at 15.5.
It was a 427/390 horse,4-speed car,and only has 47,916 miles, and this is accurate. They guy that owned the car passed away, and the car was sold, and the money is split between the 4 kids who the oldest is raising her 3 younger brother/sisters now.Almost everything that can be chromed is chromed(rearend, rear sway bar, spring, trailing arms, half shafts, strut rods,etc.).I have a few leads to start a search for the history of this car,but we will see....W/such low mileage..I'm wondering if it started it's life as a race car, blew the engine, then someone went ahead, and turned it into a show car.I don't know. The frontend of the car still has the correct 68 frontend w/the headlights, bumper, etc.,or I wouldn't have gotten the car.
I had it checked out from a good friend of mine, and she's waiting to be transported here.
In some ways...this is not my style, and I'm not crazy about the flares, but this car came from Cali, and is a very good tribute to another time.
Besides...the pictures, and my friend going to check the car out for me..I am going off pics,so if anything jumps out at you...please share. The car runs great, but I am uncertain of the specs of the engine.I would like to think that since there was no expense spared on this car anywhere that I can see that they wouldn't just throw in some truck engine SB,and leave it at that....It does have a very aggressive cam. When she gets home here in the middle of the good ol' corn fields we will do alittle investigating.......

I think you stole it too.... It's an early-mid '70s custom time capsule, but it's also "lets go racing". Cool Vette!......

That's a decent looking Chevelle,Tony! I'd like to lower it,and go w/the Torque Thrust Ds.Did you notice how deep the front wheel lip is?I don't think that a 15x8 would do it...too much flare there.I HATE big flares on a vett for the most part, but the overall "flow"of this car is really nice.My wife has ALOT of chrome to start cleaning...Yeah right......
PM me for a contact number for my buddy in PA for those visors.I looked and don't have any extra 68 visors.Sorry.

I would bet those front wheels on that vette are 15x8`s look how they stick out past the flares! LOL about the wife cleanin the chrome!!
I got a set of rechromed original rear bumpers for 320 from a guy the other day, never installed after chromed! I did lower the chevelle thats why i took the SST`s off i had to go with a 5.5 back spaceing to fit a 15x10 between the fender and frame.

i will pm you thanx! Tony

To mme...the Chevelle looks a hundred times better now, cause it was a stock appearing car w/big wheels...stuff I was into in yesteryear. This 68 is so modded that it comes together to accent each other,so it distracts from all the little things that I am not crazy about.Plus..it's kinda cool finding such a llw mileage Cali custom car. This is the stuff that my dad took me to see in the 70s at the Wide World of Wheels car shows.
When the weather breaks we will all get together from around here for a big cook out.Hopefully I get to put the 69 vert here in a car show before I take it out east in the spring?Come on down.Youngster, and his dad are awesome people too.We will all get together..
I'll think about the wheels.I just went broke.....

That...appears to be a very, very nice org.68 wheel. They are huge, huh?I have a extra 69 up wheel, and it may be in store. It is telescoping too tho, which is pretty rare for 68s.79s are cool!
