First, fill out your profile. Second, what year? I'm guessing 70-72 based on the prices you quoted. I've seen lots of grills including the elusive center grill on ebay, for prices much less then the vendors. I'd check there, or on the forum Parts for sale link. Also try the corvette salvage yards. You may luck out and find some there. Good luck.

71 & 72 were the same except for the amber lens change late in 71. Here's a link I just found on ebay. Both left & right sides are listed. This link is for the left side.

Are they metal? Why not sandblast lightly and repaint? If plastic like the 69, I found if you use Lemon Pledge on them and wiped clean restores black plastic nicely. I'm not sure of their makeup, so you pick.................B

I still don't know what year you have [or are asking about], but the prices for '71-72's has come DOWN significantly over the past 3 years. In 2005, those R & L grille pieces were $400-$600 each.

I have a 71 vette, I could have got them for 250.00 a piece last year, just left the chrome spot, he wants 250.00 a piece to them and the only reason he will do them if I decide to them is that he is all ready doing my bumper and few other things

If his quality of work is very good, you may be better off with yours getting refurbed (assuming he strips, copper plates, details & polishes, and gives it a good layer [or two] of chrome). You will have the correct date codes and they really came from the factory.
