...I still have "four" of ONLY six Corvettes I have ever owned. Had back in high school when I was eighteen a Silver '68 Coupe that was an exact twin to the one I have now, except that one needed alot of work, so I drove it one summer then sold it. Also had for 7years('97-'03)a Yellow 1980 L-48 4spd Corvette that I put 27,000 miles on it during that time.

41.......(Going on 61)

1981 Black - Currently Own
1980 White - Sold Last Summer
1998 Black - Totaled on (11/12/07)

I'm just curious about something though,......"How does a person go from owning a list of cars like the one below, to just owning a 1981 Corvette?" I mean you're talking about some pretty "High End" vehicles there.

Don't get me wrong, I've always liked the "LOOK" of 80-82 Vettes,....but I've owned a C5, and drove a Viper before, and I just can't image why anybody would ever sell (the kind of cars listed below) and buy a 190HP late model C3? Again, I'm just curious.

49 years old, and my 81 is my first corvette. I spent 28 years in the automotive aftermarket so parts were cheap or free and I always had a project going. My previous rides & projects in order;

1998 Mustang Cobra
1966 Mustang coupe
1981 Camaro Z28
1977 Trans Am
1973 Trans Am Super Duty ( only one I wish I still had )
1966 Mustang 2+2
1965 Impala SS (only a 283 2 speed powerglide car)

Always wanted a vette but was intimidated by fiberglass, wish I had started with them sooner.............

Believe me you are not the only one who asked me that question. As you can see I had many "crazy cars" in a short period of time. Basically about 2 years ago I sold the Lambo and had no toys for the last 2 years. Well I got the car ich again and was deciding on which way I wanted to go. I figured I went all the way to the top with the exitic stuff and wanted to try something different. All the Corvettes I has were C-5's except for the ZR1. When I was young I always loved the 80-82 corvettes(I'm 33) so I decided to go and get one. Being the nut that I am I tore everything out of it and made it like it is new.

Since doing the 81 over the last few months I have really enjoyed the whole process and I think I will stick with getting older Corvettes, So far I have really enjoyed fixing this one up.

So there is your anwer

Will never own a automatic, to much fun grinded the gears.

Hey Yankee I think you would liked this, since you like yellow and no one is just listing vettes.

Actually they're C5's,......(C6 = 2005-2008)

Another curiosity question,......why not profile any of these "High End" cars on your Cardomain Page? After all, Cardomain is a "Show Off What You Got" site.
