Default Look for another Insurance Company!

You should be covered for anything permanently installed in the vehicle. I had ham radio gear in my demos for years. You may have to declare it to your agent. This would fall under your comprehensive with a $50 deductible. Cameras, Laptop computers, etc. are or should be covered under your homeowners.

As a former Chevrolet dealer I have done this two step many times.

Good Luck ............ Doug

I would ask the insurance company to point out where its says in the policy aftermarket is not covered. Tell them to put it in writing. Usually aftermarket stereo equipment is covered but upt to a limit. Up here its $1500. I think you maybe confusing a limit with no coverage. 90% of all cars are aftermarket parts....i.e Magna.
