As some of you seen i've already tore my car apart and am rebuilding it.
I'll be doing multiple things such as frame, body and engine alternating while I wait for parts. My friends have been helping me make choices but were all stuck on one thing paint. None of us can decide. I've narrowed it down to two choices though. First one was white again. This is a picture of my car, what it looked like before before I started the tear down.
My second choice was a to go the rought of silver. Not my car but love the color.
Mine was originally white...and I just couldnt get into the color when it came time to pick a paint color...I would go with the silver...you sould go with whichever you like best.
In the end its going to boil down to Original (and thus maximum value) vs. Your choice (and whatever gain to desire to attach to that)
Mine was originally white also. I took the advice of someone on the forum who said "just paint it your favorite color and don't worry about it being 'correct'"
What color is the interior? Knowing that would help us in making a recommendation.
If it had Red guts, I'd think a White exterior, to match the original '53s, would be nice, but with a Black interior, Silver would be my choice:
I'll see if 80crabvette can/will post a few pix of his immaculate Silver '80.
First, my vote is for the white exterior. It's original and it's sporty looking. Interior should be red, however. And, if you are still interested in silver, a light silver with a red interior is really sharp looking. The red has to be bright, though, and not some burgundy shade.
I'd vote for the original color, but since the interior is going to be wrong, it;s starting to matter less. Is the motor right?
PS, what's a "rought?"
Oh, I wasn't paying attention when i was writeing plus I suck at it , but I ment route. Has the original motor and i've already rebuilt it once and is in great condition, so i'm leaning towards a crate and storing the original. I'm just aiming for a 350-400 hp smog legal motor. Interior i'm open to colors but i'm not to fond of red interiors, So I was sticking to navy blue or black. Today i've been kind of thinking about a silver or a white with black accents or mabey a rally stripe.
I would love black, because all my cars i own right now are black except for the vet. I was also considering that color. I love red too but the police in my area already stare at me with a white car.(I go the speed limit) might be because they like the car, but you never know.
And, if you are still interested in silver, a light silver with a red interior is really sharp looking. The red has to be bright, though, and not some burgundy shade.
Well I strongly disagree with that statement I'm rather fond of a Silver vette and burgandy like interior.
