I had a difficult time picturing them from the L A R G E pictures, as well. They look like some kind of insulators or "gap" fillers, but I don't recognize them.
Hard to tell from the size, but it looks like the foam seal between the body & the frame. Helps to keep some of the hot air from the engine compartment from heating up the floor

That's it exactly.
It is a foam seal that goes on the engine side of the firewall, down near the body mount. I don't believe it is installed on the frame, but is adhered to the top of the metal door sill support that is visible from the engine compartment.
I know that it is in the AIM. You should be able to locate the part and get an idea as to how to install it by looking at the appropriate drawing.

Jim
It's the body sill wedge heat shield. Mounts between the firewall and splash shields along side the frame.
Look on p.92 of the Zip catalog, p.30 of the Corvette Central catalog if you have it, or the AIM if you have it.
Ya its hard to tell the size of the object from the pictures but I almost thought it looked like the insert for the center compartment. But I guess the pictures make it look much bigger than it really is and it wouldn’t have fallen out from underneath
Dang, I was going to say Hot Wheels ramp. It's amazing how much stuff they inserted over the years to fix heat and noise issues. You would have thought after sending a guy in space in a little metal box, they could figured most of it out in 68. Plastic shield, metal shield, foam collars, stapled on insulation.
