I have seen in the brochures that a compass was a option. (74 and some other years) I have never seen one. Does anyone have a photo of the compass and where it was mounted?
I can only speak to MY 1969; a compass was one of several options called Custom Features Accessories. These were dealer installed options, as opposed to RPO options installed by the factory. The compass part number was 987457 with a list price of $7.75!
I'll post a photo when I return from travelling but it's a round sticker located next to the jacking instructions (on the lid underside of the passenger compartment) and was placed there around the same time (given the 'aged' look of the sticker matches the jack instructions). It provides some instruction for calibration of the compass. There's another sticker that I cannot remember (a total of 3).
I must admit, I would love to see one and see where they mounted this without it being intrusive.
