I've located all the screws on the interior door panels on my 77 for removal. Im sure there are some hidden clips or screws on the door locks or elsewhere that Im missing. Any info on these..... or tricks to make door panel removal easier would be great....before I do my usual gentle "take apart" routine that usually leaves me with pieces of what I was trying to fix in te first place....thanks....Peter
Look on the outer edge of the panels. There may be a couple of clips screwed on to the door frame.
The lock ****, window crank(if there is one), door opening handle and the door pull handle also have to be removed.
After all is removed there is a "velcro" like stuff holding the panel at a few locations, but to remove panel you pull the bottom out first, then release the top at the window channel area.
It's really pretty easy....hope I didn't confuse you
You also need to remove the inside door handle, pull out as if you are opening the door and you'll see a screw. Unscrew it to remove the handle. There's a clip that holds the lock **** on thet needs to be poped off so it too can be removed. You can use a flat blade screw driver or get the tool from the 'Help" display at a local car parts dealer.
Thanks for the info....its actually above freezing today....good day to run a little heat in the garage and play wth the few little things to do on the car....although Im sure they never end. Looking foward to May when maybe the snow will be gone and the sand cleaned up off the roads!! Thanks again for the door panel intel.
Thanks....pics were a big help. Shop manual on the way.....just cant stand seeing car sit in garage without tinkering with something....while waiting for manual. THANKS again.
