Al Knoch probably has the best quality and the highest price; others are less costly and decent quality; then there are those that are 'cheap'. Cut pile looks more luxurious....loop pile looks more 'period correct'. Cut pile is easier to clean; loop pile wears better (IMO, anyway). Choose the one that looks best to YOU.
I know you don't care about originality but if you have the standard interior then is 80/20 loop. Cut pile for deluxe interior. I have the loop but with floor mats it doesn’t wear at all.
Cut pile. The loop IMHO looks and feels cheap. From your avatar, it looks like you have a beauty and you would not do the car justice if you put the loop in.
just finished the interior for my 78. bought cut-pile kit from willcox. quality of materials rated good. no issues. not bad for a kit which included the carpet, dr panels and seat covers.
Just replaced the cut-pile that was 20 years old with the original loop and I like it. Cut-pile did wear well but the loop looks like it belongs there.

The cut-pile wears better, but I love the look of the 80/20 loop.
