i wonder what terry is smoking? a yellow 1979 for 35,000.00? okay "rare" color and beautiful undercarriage with a ton of documentation does that mean it's worth nearly three times the current market value? for 35K you can get into a nice 50th anniversary edition and most early Z-06"s! i also saw he has a silver annivarsary editon for sale very low mileage (leaks-no doubt) in the stratosphere for pricing as well! i guess they are trying to keep the market on smog controlled, low horse powered, gas guzzling, rubber bumpered C-3's up there but is there anyone here that would pay that kind of mioney for that car? just wondering. i think proteam for the most part does have some decent cars although most are way out of line but i also feel terry is a decent individual seeing how much and how many community charitable events they get involved with but that said, i think he is out of line with the pricing of his current later C-3's

I wouldn't pay that for it but you can ask anything you want for a car. That doesn't necessarily mean you're going to get it.

http://www.proteam-corvette.com/cars/132Z.htm

The link above...the car appears brand new, not "used" like so many others. As for the price, remeber this phrase:

"Where are you going to get another one?"

Description:Stock 132Z..

1979 Corvette T-Top, L-82, 4 speed, numbers match, two owner car with 34,556 actual miles. Corvette Yellow paint with Light Beige interior... all in excellent as new condition. Rarest color in 1979 (only 2,357 produced). Optioned with factory air, power steering, power brakes, power windows, power door locks, power antenna, leather, tilt-n-telescopic, shoulder harness, SS brakes, A.I.R., AM/FM stereo radio, comfort/convenience group, glass tops, tinted glass, sport mirrors, front and rear spoilers, alloys, and raised white lettered radials. Most all factory correct type components including the spare, jack, jack tools, T-Top bags, seat belts, washer system, smog system, shifter, shielding, air cleaner, owners manual, sales brochure, and 1/2 of the power beam headlights. Documented with most dealer/factory paperwork. Great car from California that looks, runs, and drives excellent. CC:1 $35,000.00

And the prices seem pretty good. They have room to bargain a bit I think, but here is one I would like to have, and a decent buy at 40K...perhaps.

I know were addicted to these cars but it's just like drugs, JUST SAY NO to these kind of prices and they will go away.

Like all of their cars, it's psychological. In the classic car world, high prices are associated with two things: high quality or low availability. You'll notice when they sell a car, they don't take it off the website right away they just mark it as SOLD - but the price they're showing you isn't the price it was sold for, it was the ASKING price. This leads you to believe that someone paid the price marked, but they never do.

Proteam knows they're never going to get $35k for that car, they're probably shooting for somewhere between $25-$29k. The buyer walks away thinking they're the best negotiator on the world and "saved" $6-$10 grand, and Proteam maintains the reputation that they only sell high-priced high quality cars.

I agree, "just say no" its real easy. I think Terry "bumped his head" with 35K for that car. I guess hes just trying to get as much as well pay for any car he has. I say look elsewhere just for the principal of the matter. Im looking for a car but I wont feed into those prices. Theres alot more cars out there in the same condition as what he has for alot less. Hey he found it for less than hes selling it for so they must be out there. Anyone looking for a car just has to find them before he does. Put an ad in the local newspaper, you will get calls for sure. I did.

I like the, Where are you going to get another one point.

That was my situation when I purchased a 71 LT1 vert from him 4 years ago. I was looking specifically for a ylw (Sunflower ylw) model with all the documentation and Top Flight, Bloomington Gold with blk leather. He had a beautiful one and before buying it I was able to talk to the 2 previous owners covering 25 years.

He was asking 45 and after about a week of negotiation he took 40 for it. Even 40 was about 3 or 4 grand over market at the time but he had it and I wanted it. After two years of looking I said what the hell and bought it. The car was actually better than described. I do wish him luck though on selling that 79 for anywhere close to that price.

So who has bought a car from Proteam or any of the high retail places?
What were they asking vs what did you pay?

35K is ridiculous in my mind, but I'd love to think someone would pay that price. It would just make my 79 L-82, M21, Gymkhana car worth that much more.

Default whats Terry been smokin, big fat profits

worked for Pro Team for 3 plus yrs in the body shop ,and ill be damned if that car doesn't look like the one i fixed for having a smoked front end .but of coarse i could be wrong .We did not do a lot of cars of that year, nor that color so some thing like that would sick out in my mind.Kind a like that last 67 ,got a chance at looking her ,what a turd ,who ever restored her did a real nice job of it ,but at over 600,000 $ who really got screwed. Not Terry

It's worth whatever someone is willing to pay. After watching the Barrett Jackson auctions, no doubt there is someone out there that would.
