Rich, I know you drive your car, put a "1" in front of that and it's real!
Yep...a big 1.....
But you would be amazed how many just think that is "original" miles..when I tell them it is over 100,000,they just shake their heads...makes me wonder how many have purchased an old vette without knowing ODO rolls over...
I had the reverse situation.... Bought my car as a family-owed [California] vehicle from '71-'04; it had 196,000 miles on it. After seeing that the family had all the old service and repair records and that everything replaced on the car was original GM/Corvette hardware, I checked it out and bought it. It still had the original carpeting in it. When I took it to an alignment place, the mechanic pulled me aside and said "this is the tightest steering/suspension I've ever seen on an old Corvette". Good maintenance yields tremendous dividends.

I see adds for 75 to 80's Corvettes with under 50,000 MI with everything replaced. Was the quality that bad or are they all lying about the miles. Are there any factory original cars left from that time frame. I have a 85 with 17,000 Mi & a 70 LT-1 with 19,000 MI. Both look brand new. Looking for a loaded BLACK/RED 77 4 speed car & none are original. ALL have sad stories

C3 Corvette's have stiff suspentions and are 26 years old and older and are prone to premature wear. Most of these cars regarless of milage need full suspenion rebuilds do to fact that the origional parts have become dried out and the rubber is brittle.
There is no way unless the car was maintained in a controlled invironment that any of the origional comsumable parts would be worth much.
Many of the odomitors are rolled over so I have never put much stock in any claims unless the owner has continious documentation. I would look at any Corvette based on conditionover miles.

that can really depend on a lot of things, where it was kept, where its spent most of its days (rain snow est.) how it was driven, how it was maintained and the list goes on. for ex my car (81) only has 9,734 and every thing could ues a good overhaul.
