Got the price but it was for used gears.
Anyone replace existing w/ used before? my understanding is used gears create their own unique lash over time and it has to be put back dead on when rebuilds etc.. are done.
By "used gears", do you mean just the gear set? You're planning to do the swap? Or the shop is selling a used [but rebuilt] differential? If just the gears, they will have to be correctly shimmed to get the gear mesh properly adjusted. That is not something easy to do, if you haven't done it before and don't know the procedure [need dial indicators and a way to load the gear set when checking pattern, etc.].

Their are lots of 3.08's for sale and many want to try a 4.11. If this is what you want you should be able to trade the complete unit with someone on the forumn and get what you want for free.
