radiator overflow?

radiator overflow?

There's a white '71 LT-1 on everyone's favorite auction site right now. It has some sort of bracket near where the radiator overflow would be on a base engine car. Can someone please take a look and tell me what they think this bracket is for? If it is in fact for the radiator overflow then I suppose that is a BIG red flag

All of my Vettes had that bracket, and it was used for the A/C lines. My black Vette had A/C when I got it so the racket was used to hold the lines. Neither of my red or blue Vettes had A/C but they still had the bracket, unused.

I believe this is where the heater hose clamp should be according to my AIM for 1970.

That is the base for the heater hose clamp.

The LT1 cars did not use an over flow tank. It was just a tube that went to the ground. Yours looks correct there. The bracket as said is for the heater hoses.
