I have a white 75 coupe which I purchased with silver interior.
It came with all documentation and owners history since new.
My question is the interior, it just does not look like silver, it is very presentable, however it seems to have a shade of light green in its appearence. The person whom I purchased it from only put in a new rugs and had the leather seats redone. I'm missing a piece on the console up front on the passenger side, which I'm suspecting was used to match the rugs and seats.Could this be that it was to match the FADE? I had to put in seat belts which are silver and they are the silver color, for anything else what should I do? I have returned floor mats because they just did not look right. Any opinions and guesses are welcomed. Thanks
If you can't color match the interior pieces, here's some options:
: change everything using same color code
: dye all the interior pieces
: don't attempt to match faded colors, dye the questionable pieces
: use a contrasting color which is neutral (black)
Just curious, what does the color tag on the drivers A-pillar show for colors?
You can make the interior look like new in a couple of days. Remove the seats and interior panels; get a pint of SEM vinyl dye mixed to the car's trim tag code or matched to a selected panel; clean all panels WELL; shoot with 2 light [but covering] coats of dye and let dry; reinstall the panels. You can shoot the seat covers, too, if they are vinyl. Otherwise, you'll need leather dye if you want to do them, too.
I don't know that I've seen that color combination before. Interior silver should be 406/407 depending on whether or not it's leather. Not sure about 142.
Re-dye of interior pieces is not that difficult. Just make sure to carry out the prep as per instructions. All about cleaning the pieces before applying the dye. Good Luck.
Spray it....either with your spray stuff [if you have some] or a Pre-val gas cannister/bottle sprayer. They are inexpensive and work really well. The auto paint supply store where you get the vinyl dye will have them. Buy one bottle "system" and a couple of extra gas cannisters. Also buy some laquer thinner to clean out the Pre-val unit when done spraying.
