They had a combined pulling weight of 3900 kilogram force, double that of the weight of the car, didn't move an inch.
I have been hauling my car for 9 years now, each corner of it has a tie down rated at 10,000 lbs. If normal driving, yours is probably enough, but if an accident or quick turn were to occur you might see over 5 times the weight of the car.
Hi Cas/cajos,
Hope the trip to the paint shop was uneventful and the tie-downs sufficed. We all want you to get stronger tie-downs for the safety considerations to yourself and anyone following but mostly, so the fresh paint lives a spectacular life on your classic car!
(I only learned your name from one of your responses on a previous post. I did not know when I used it as an acronym of a company!)
Can you get pictures during the paint process? We'd enjoy looking them over, if you can. Of course, when the car is ready for the trip home, show us pictures of new paint and new tie-downs. LOL.
Sure will, my painter (good friend of my brother) has an apprentice who has to write a report for school. Now here comes the fun part. The Corvette is in the middle of enemy territory, it is at a Mercedes repair shop. When we delivered it there where only exclusive Mercedes models, no C or even E class. But this apprentice said his report is about Vette and not the Benz's. hahahahaha
I would have guessed United States and that would have been too weird. I've never heard of a corvette coming back to the US unless it belonged to a service member or a US citizen returning .
As soon as I have pictures I will post them!! I think they will start saturday!! The will take some time to do the filler and blocking.
I can ship some cheese for you if you want to ;-)
Worship I am looking forward to cruise with you. . . (I try to post on the dutch ICC forum as well but my account for that forum is f$%^^*ed up, and the admin is not in a hurry)

A very cool C3 left our little country for the States because the owner migrated there. He brought (back) along another classic American (forgot what model) and yes: people at customs/harbor were very surprised to see a 'vette coming back
@Cajos: you have my e-mail address, next week we all be having some days off
Hahahaha, are you any good with a wrench ;-)? Just checked my steeroids shipment, Its in Europe (Paris), with any luck (read: if customs don't fxxx up) I'll have it Saturday, I ordered the chrome one!! No pictures yet!!
Designer Imagines A Corvette That Looks More Like a Corvette Than the Corvette
