My area is absolutely loaded with 'Vettes of all sorts... I've waved quite a few times and the ONLY wave I have ever received back was a fellow C3; I think the stereotype about C4-C6 owners is unfortunately well-deserved.
I frequently get snubbed.I waved long before i ever owned a vette.Even then i knew about "the wave'.
Now when the new vettes snub me,acting all cool,I just put them in their place with my ZX12R .
You should see them when they pull up to the light or whatever, after that...takes them down a peg or two...but it's really a shame.
Me...I love ALL vettes.Especially 68 verts

you're not waving from the saddle of your Kawasaki are you?
gotta tell ya, if some guy waved at me from his crotch rocket, I might not wave back myself
I agree with the "I don't get offended" post ...it just seems a bit of the nostalgia is getting lost. Not a big deal, just another small slice of Americana fading away.
Last June I had my 69 C3 BB at a Vette show and, after the show was over, I was driving home with the T-tops out. I had just popped out onto a main boulevard, moving up through the gears pretty briskly. A C6 came up on me from behind and I thought he was going to just blow by me. When he got up along side I looked over and the driver was waving and the passenger was grinning and giving me a big thumbs up. I waved back, of course. There are still lots of new Vette owners who know of and respect the tradition. More frequently the older guys than the twenty somethings and thirty somethings.

Yeah, I'm sure "79 vette head" appreciates the comment......
Did it ever occur to anyone that a guy in a new vette may not know about "Save the Wave". If someone doesn't wave back it's no biggie to me....I don't take it personally.
i'm not taking it personal just thought he would have acknowledged me in some way,..... even if he flipped me the bird would have been something

Man I am glad you mentioned the lawn grubs, I got to deal with them as soon as I get to Ohio next week.
I have gotten waves from a few C5 and C6 guys. I also find that you will tend to get more friendly talk from some owners of the different series at cruise-ins etc. Last week I was looking at a C5 with a procharger on it and the owner was right there to talk about it and ask me about mine. Of course he also mentioned that he had a 66 way back when. The C5,C6 people that had earlier models in their younger days are more likely to reminisce and tend to be fans of vettes, no matter what year.
