Always get lots of waves in this area. Even my daughter knows about "Save the wave" and she laughs at me when I wave at a vette and I'm not in my own. She always likes to be picked up from school in it and we'll both wave to another vette. Most kids her age (14) don't even know a C3 is a Corvette.

Save the Wave!

whenever i drive around, usually get the wave back.

The part that really gets me is that the only C3 i have EVER seen in my town, i was not driving my vette... figures

Whenever I am in my 78 I wave at every single corvette I see. Most older vettes wave back, have only had 1 c6 wave.
My g/f doesn't get it when I say something like "Aw man that guy didn't wave." She thinks I'm silly..
I also do it on my motorcycle.

I get waves all the time from the C4/C5,and C6 owners. The other day.....I had kids in the back seat of their parents car taking pictures of it w/a camera phone. That made me feel good, and I sure know that it wasn't my ugly azz they were after.....
Don't sweat it...peace,and love. Some people have cool cars.....some people know cars, and really love their cars. You can't control what others do,but you control what you do,so.....give em the wave, and enjoy the ride.

I get and give waves all the time. There's a lot of C3's around where I live. Somehow we all seem to know each other, so the wave is pretty strong with us.

The girlfriend loves the wave. She can spot a Vette coming down the road just as good as I can, and she always gets excited when she gets to wave.

I get waves almost all the time. Just last saturday I was heading down Delaware Ave in Philly in my 50th AE and i passed a brand new 2008 bight yellow C-6 pulling out and right away he waves as I did. Cool ! a lot of folks who don't 'Get Into' corvettes don't wave, but the ones who do wave all the time, C-1,2,3,4,5,6 ! Things arn't lost.
ps: he passed me like a lightning bolt as we headed south on Rt95 !

It should be MANDATORY, that when a customer buys a New Vette they are told about the WAVE!

c'monnnnnnnnn

The Corvette mass is dymanic and ever changing. Those who joined recently or recently purchased a Corvette probably don't know about the prior thread subjects.

Lots of CF members have been here since day one I'll bet, and others just bought the car of their dreams and are pumped with Corvette enthusiasm and want to share in the fun, or want quick answers to their specific issues.

Since I've been here, I would guess there's been at least 1 new "I got (have) no breaks (brakes)" thread started each week. Sometimes they're met with positive , but many times an unfriendly response ("Here we go again") barks to "Go search the archives".

New to (any) forum members, don't know about archives and repeated thread subjects. Chances are, there hasn't been a "NEW" subject posted here in years.

but...

so what?

This is a place (as any forum) for people to hang out with a similar interst and talk about their Corvette, the others Corvettes, or Corvette whatevers.

The title at the top is Corvette Forum. If we don't talk about brakes and waves and leaks and wheels and paint, what will we talk about?

I ventured through the off topic area recently, sometimes funny, sometimes sad. There is a "my C#'s better than your C#" mentality amongst the members. Thats unfortunate as each C# has it's own place in history, with each adding it's own importance to the Corvette lineage.

As previously mentioned, most "new" Corvette owners/leasers, don't even know about the wave. Or they've missed the fact that without my C# number, their C# doesn't exist.

Chevy mentioned the Corvette comradery in their ads in the 70's. Proudly announcing Corvette owners wave to each other.

In my experience, C5 and C6 owners are mostly too cool to wave to the lowly C3. They also like to trash talk the C4. But again, without them, they're driving something without the family name on it.

Spend some time reading the other groups. Wave to your fellow C3'ers. The C6 gang (to quote a young John Lennon) can rattle their jewelry (to each other)

and to the C5 guy that flipped me the bird last summer, I got your wave right here

Me too. C3's are very rare around here. I see a lot of guys in C5's and C6's, but they are very elite. The feel that their newer cars trump my little C3. I love all Vette's and try to show anyone I see on the road some love. I guess newer vette owners don't feel the same way. I say another C3 yesterday and gave him the thumbs up.

My area is absolutely loaded with 'Vettes of all sorts... I've waved quite a few times and the ONLY wave I have ever received back was a fellow C3; I think the stereotype about C4-C6 owners is unfortunately well-deserved.
