so i took my toy out to go to my nieces softball game. low and behold sitting at a light a c-6 vert pulls along side of me so i turn and look. next light we are at he's in a turning lane. i turn and look again. i got no look no wave no head nod nothin. i guess this guy was not into the wave or not a true vette guy. i always give a wave even if i'm not in my vette..... save the wave
That happens to me sometimes with c5 & c6's. But, not all is lost. I was getting gas yesterday ($3.39/gal), next to a c5... and I got the nod, and I returned it.
We're fortunate that there are a lot of Vette guys out there in new Vettes, but lets be honest, there are a lot of new Vette buyers that are just in it because it's a new car, and a cheap super car.

Maybe he's telling his buddies the same thing. "Saw a guy in a 79 and he didnt wave"

Actually, he was probably telling the guys in his 'shirt and tie' club...
"So some clown in an old junker was waving like a goober at me in traffic today. I just ignored him so he wouldn't think I was going to give him money."
I don't think twice when I don't get a wave. Figure there not into Vettes for the long haul and within a couple years they will get rid of it for something different.
Trailering mine 1500 miles back from TX, we got a honk and a wave, or a thumbs up, from just about every vet that passed us and plenty of truckers to boot! It was pretty cool. She was on the trailer facing back (better weight dist with a BB car), so coming up on her staring back at you probably looked pretty cool. Each stop for fuel took longer than usual as well. It seems everyone has a vette story to share, and I was eager to hear them!

Until the C6 owner falls on hard times and is forced to liquidate the car and discovers he owes $15k more than it's worth.

Yeah, I'm sure "79 vette head" appreciates the comment......
Did it ever occur to anyone that a guy in a new vette may not know about "Save the Wave". If someone doesn't wave back it's no biggie to me....I don't take it personally.
Sometimes when I drive the vette, I forget about the wave. I'll drive along and notice another vette driver giving the wave and by the time I realize what he was doing, I've passed him and feel like a jerk.
...gotta remember that most C5 & C6 cars are "lease cars", so the owner does'nt really "own" it. Just another "rental" car. Kinda like waving to every car that has a Hertz or Avis sticker on 'em.
...I quit "wasting" waves years ago for the above reason. Most C4 owners usually have one hand on the steering wheel and the other hand banging on the electronic LED dash trying to get it to light up.
Last Weekend I was pumped. It's seems like its been a long winter in CT.
So, We got a Sitter and took the Vette out of a cruz to the shore for dinner! Wow a real date.
Anyway it's gorgous Sunny in the 70's and at least 2 vetts passed us, both waved!
Only problem. . . My wife was driving and she was cluless!
I mean, I love her and everything, but I would jump in the middle of a conversation & say "Why didn't you wave to that Guy?" "Aren't you going to wave to that Guy?"
So If those Guys are reading this I appologize for her. She's not perfect, but for that matter neither a I.

I hope she was driving because you were too drunk!
I bet he didn't know you were in a corvette. Give the moron a break and toss a quarter into his car. He will notice you then.
My wife asked me if she had to wave while in the Vette, it's been years. I simply replied "of course!"
My house is on the corner of a somewhat busy intersection and today several c5/6's were stopped at the light while I was working on my c3 and nothing. Several Chevy's owners stopped with a beep, smile and wave and one c3, orange '75, guy pulled over to chat.
