Center Cluster question
I took my '81 out for a ride tonight and the entire center cluster would not light up. I know its not the bulbs because I just replace all of them, and the light that shines down on the A/C controls is on...just all the insturment guages dont light up??????
Are they on a seperate fuse???

Problem could be fuse...but more likely it is a damaged power feed wire or ground wire that got damaged when you changed the bulbs. Get a 2-3 foot piece of wire and run it from a known good ground point and then touch some metal on the cluster (with light switch ON). If the lights work your problem is a bad ground and you can fix it or run a new ground to the cluster. If it still doesn't work, you damaged a power feed wire to the cluster.

You may have a bad diagram card or you plug and socket is not making good contact. The speedo/tach light circut is the same for the center and I beleive that the upper center light that shines down is also.
I had some problems and replaced my cluster cards and every thing works like new.
