Default Rocker Moldings Question

I am getting the parts together to put Hooker sidemounts on my 74. I am taking off 69 style sidepipes so I need rocker moldings. Can anyone tell me if there is a dimensional difference between the 70-77 and the rest thru 82 rocker moldings?? I understand the finish difference, but if all else is the same, I would save a lot by using the later model parts. They aren't really seen behind the pipes anyways.
THanks,
Dusty

'70-'74 are the same length [I believe]. '75-'77 are about 1.5" shorter...to make room for wider tires. '78-'79 (or '80) are different yet. Check a catalog from one of the aftermarket places; the rocker panels will be grouped by years that are the same.

Thanks for the info. I've found them grouped separately in the catalogs, but no explanation as to why. Thanks for saving me the mistake of buying the wrong ones.
