The Zaino line is compatible with both single stage and base coat/clear coat paints, so it really doesn't matter what you have.

Thanks for the info (Paul and others). I'll try and look for them at Carlisle. Hope to see you all there.

(Paul - BTW - Just in your neck of the woods two weeks ago - ran Falmouth - 6th straight year now. Some day hope to drive my vette there)

It has some very deep dry spots that i couldn't to ( very light white spots from lack of paint) I worked my *** off trying to penetrate it. bought all kinds of waxes and such and did what i could to cover them up. After several attempts and coats later i realized it wasn't working that well. going back and forth with every thing i had just wasn't cutting it.

I got it to be a pretty decent 20 footer but wanted it to be better... then when i finally gave up after about 6-7 hours later i started to put everything away and call it quits. Then i saw a bottle of "Black Magic" and figured wtf, why not.....I knew it didn't work well on my Black Stang ( thats why it was all the way back on the shelf) but i tried it anyhow. first with a hand polish that looked better than everything else i tried and then i used a light duty buffer with it and BAM! exactly what i wanted!!!!

As of now its a damn good 10 footer and its VERY hard to see the light/white spots when up close....

If Zano is better than Black Magic that would be completely awesome!!!

scratch that, it looks like crap only one day later....

You guys all need to step up from your silly claybars and start using the big boy stuff. No clay bar or Zaino wax will ever EVER ever look anywhere close to a good buffing.

But seriously, depending on your car's paint and amount of clear, a very light wetsanding followed by a good buff job will turn your car into an instant mirror. Depending on the bodywork underneath, it may turn it into a funhouse mirror, but you'll be able to see yourself in it either way.

Buff once a year and wetsand as needed. For regular waxing, Meguiar's Number 6. The stuff looks great on black paint. For quick touchups, Mother's Spray On Wax is great as long as the car isn't hot.

Just waxed with a spray on

After wetsanding, buffing, and meguiar's number 6 and an hour and a half cruise on the highway

What you have forgotten to say is that each time you do a sand or use a polish rather than a wax you lose .001" of clear-coat. There's not much on there to begin with, a few mm? . A Big Boy with a buffer can do a lot of damage. I've seen new car finishes at a GM dealer go bad with an incompetent "detailer." Doesn't take much to ruin a finish.

But that's your choice. I work by hand.
