Before I head over to Carlisle on Friday I want to do a little clean up on my 69 vert. What does everyone like to use to make their C3 shine? Wax, polish? And for those of us with chrome, let me know what you like to shine the chrome with.
To date I've only done some light sponging to get off dirt near tires and gone over it with a soft cloth. But now that I've had it almost 2 months, need to get on it.
Clay bar (if you have the time), polish, then wax and then sealer. Chrome - actually windex works just fine. Use clean terry towels. Use a garden hose only on the tires.
Zano polish its the shizzell If you have time to get it they ship real fast had mine in 3 days .I bought the 3 steps and used it on my 33 yr old paint and man It s hurtin on my eyes .
I even used it on my black bumpers ,that need painted silver, and it even shined them up "it not even paint".

I'll have to order some of that Zano stuff. I just bought a 77 and although it looks nice a shiny in these pics it wasn't that way when i got it. It has very little paint on it so i had to be VERY careful when polishing it. It has some very deep dry spots that i couldn't to ( very light white spots from lack of paint) I worked my *** off trying to penetrate it. bought all kinds of waxes and such and did what i could to cover them up. After several attempts and coats later i realized it wasn't working that well. going back and forth with every thing i had just wasn't cutting it.
I got it to be a pretty decent 20 footer but wanted it to be better... then when i finally gave up after about 6-7 hours later i started to put everything away and call it quits. Then i saw a bottle of "Black Magic" and figured wtf, why not.....I knew it didn't work well on my Black Stang ( thats why it was all the way back on the shelf) but i tried it anyhow. first with a hand polish that looked better than everything else i tried and then i used a light duty buffer with it and BAM! exactly what i wanted!!!!
As of now its a damn good 10 footer and its VERY hard to see the light/white spots when up close....
If Zano is better than Black Magic that would be completely awesome!!!

The Zaino line of products is the way to go in my opinion. Clear Sealant followed by the Z8 Grande Finale gives the ultimate shine. (Assuming you have prepared the paint properly)
i wax it with mothers wax, use chrome polish on chrome and f21 works way better than armor all for interiors. its made by turtle wax. doesnt get greasy and collect dust like armorall.
A good wax works well in areas that don't have a lot of hot sun. In sunny areas, polymer polish like Zaino works better, as it doesn't get grainy in the heat. You can also use Zaino [polymer polishes] in direct sun with no problem. I like 'em a lot.

make sure you claybar 1st. You've got a dark car like me and you can't see all the tar and crud thats on there til you use it. I clean mine AT LEAST a couple times a year. BIG DIFFERENCE.

Spit shine !!!
I'll be there as well.................fri / sat & sun
look for a really faded long island vettes tee with hot babe in the vicinity.............
come -n- say hello...........!!
Claybar followed by polish, then a coat of Griot's Garage Carnauba Stick Wax for its durability then a coat of Griot's Best of Show Wax for the deep, deep gloss. The car looks like it's been dipped in lucite the finish looks so wet and deep.
Does anyone know if the Zaino folks show up at Carlisle? Maybe I'll just wait and pick up some items there.
I see you apply the ZFX with either the Z-2 or Z-5,Z-3. Depends on wether you have a clear coat or not. How do I know if my paint job had a clear coat?

Thanks!
I've had tremendous results with clay bar then Meguiar's TECH WAX.
Fast, easy and WOW!

There will be a Zaino distributor at the event from what I have been told. There was one there last year also.
The Zaino line is compatible with both single stage and base coat/clear coat paints, so it really doesn't matter what you have.
I use the "The worlds best wax" and their detail spray. http://www.worldsbestwax.com/main.htm The wax goes on off very easy, super shine. Use a micro fiber towel.
