My first replacement part
Well I went to my first Corvettes at Carlisle with my first vette that many of you already know I bought recently. So I had a short list of items and here is the car after being in Carlisle for 2 days

And I thought what could I tackle on a Sunday with little to no experience yet on working on cars. So I looked at the.....sunvisors

And I was pretty sure I could do that. So I did. I had bought replacement ones on Friday and picked up new posts on Saturday. The screws with the replacement posts were too long. I am guessing the longer screws assume you are replacing the padding trim around the window? So I put the old screws back in, which were in good condition..

And they look a lot better. I did keep the old ones and old posts. But if you guys tell me they have no value, I'll toss them.
After I did that I felt pretty good so I decided the Vert needed cleaning. I had bought my supply of Zaino products in Carlisle, thanks to some of your recommendations. I recruited a little cutie to help me out and we washed the old girl up..

I did the claybar thing and rewashed. Not wanting to tempt fate, or rain, or hot sun - I pulled it back into the garage and went about polishing. Now nice and shinny, ready for the next ride.

I tightened my right side mirror which was a little loose. I also had to fiddle with the harmonica connector as my turn signals were out this morning going to get gas. That's the second time it's happened. Seems to work again if I disconnect the connector and reconnect.
Now I am preparing myself mentally for the challenge of the stereo install. Hopefully to start next weekend. Keep those fingers crossed. And DB - get ready for more questions!

Don't EVER throw any ORIGINAL part away. You never know when, why or who might want/need it.
It sounds like you're having fun!!!

Alan
