Does anyone have experience with purchasing seat foam and vinyl covers? I am looking at Wilcox, and The Last Detail corvette stores. Their prices are significantly less than the major suppliers (ecklers etc..). Any advice?
Mine are Wilcox leather-like covers, new foam and install kit. My first time, here are before and after pics. New cover was a little dirty when I took the photo.
I put in leather but Willcox was my first choice.
They are good to work with. Make sure you see if they are offering a special discount under the Forum tab of their web site. Haven't checked it lately but focusing in on the Aluminum wheels there myself.
Good luck.

I bought two sets from Wilcox's, one set leather for my 79 and one set leather like for my 73. I will probably buy another set for my 77 from them also.
Willcox is the way to go, ask them about there drivers leather.
If you're going to do it then do it right all the way so you don't have to come back for a long long time. Wilcox foam and drivers leather. Made a huge dif in the seats.
I purchased my covers and seat foam from Willcox and they were the best prices. My stuff came in corvette america boxes. I did purchase the full leather covers. IMO Willcos cant be beat.
72,
You mention seat foam in your post. I really recommend that you use the new foam. It makes getting the new covers on a little more difficult, but I think you end up with a better fit when you're done. Some people say the new foam makes the seats look a little more 'puffy', but I like the look.
Regards,
Alan

I agree with Alan. New foam if you are putting on new covers. I sit a little higher with the new foam, but with my big old butt that won't last for too many years before I am back down where I started.

I got their "original style" seatcovers for my 72. Leather and vinyl. It is hard to tell what is vinyl and what is leather. I am assuming the bottom sides and top back are vinyl.
They were drop shipped from Corvette America - who supplies most of the vendors I've heard.
Suggestion: Remove your passenger seat and disassemble it enough to check-out the existing main body foam sections (back & seat) before you buy all new foam pieces. They are not cheap and, many times, don't need to be replaced. The 'scrim' foam (in the padded channels) turns to yellow dust because of long-term exposure to the sun's UV rays. But the body foam never sees the 'light of day'. If is hasn't been water soaked, rotted and you still feel some cushion in the seats, you'll be wise to check it out before ordering things you don't really need.
