That 64 is a half shade lighter than my old 63 vert
It was an old school California candy and when I put that thing in NC sun ,it faded to pink/silver.
My friend that ran a multi-million dollar body shop wanted a candy look on an old ford, He used a mazda or nisson red.It looked like candy (i swear).
He could have done it the old fashioned way and it would not have cost him a thing....
That truck still looks new

I originally wanted a 72 vert, cuz that the year i was born, so now i'm getting the itch for that 72 again, so ive been sneaking around in the C3 section lately... that & a neighbor has a 68-72 coupe that i cant really describe the color, kind of a blue green grey, which as far as i can nail down was a steel cities grey, but his doesnt look anything like the pics i see on this site, plus he's got the hubcaps from a 69 on it so im confused?
The down side to candy paint is touch up... I've got a few chips, and theres no way your gonna get close to matching the paint so you gotta live with a few chips when they happen.

Candy paints jobs also offer a large amount of customisation oppotunities, for example, say you want to do a Baldwin Motion stripe on the car aswell, you could paint your silver basecoat... You could then do the the stripe in a darker silver, gold, any contrasting color and then apply your candy, giving you a subtle stripe that will "come out" more in the sun.
I'm using BASF R-M paints and they have a Carizzma candy line.

(of course, the Black Cherry doesn't seem to show up on the site)
Anybody try these?
