Default Identify this part!!!

Hello everyone! My father-in-law and I just purchased a 1980 to restore. The piece under the bumper has been knocked up into the bumper, we are guessing by a curb. What is this piece called?

My guess is that it's the front air dam extension. Look on Corvette Centrals webiste, they have some good diagrams.

If it is black plastic, it's the air dam/spoiler; if it is painted body color, it's the valence. The latter is a 'glassed-in' panel on the body.

I just happened to be looking in a Paragon catalog and they refer it to as "front lower radiator air deflector" page 104. Its (2) pieces left and right hand.

Are you referring to the tow hook?? Most of them get bent by hitting the curb

Post a better pic. There is a metal hook under the 80-82s just about where your arrow points.

My advice is to purchase the 1980 assembly instruction manual (AIM) and possibly the GM Chassis and Service manaul. I think you and your father-in-law will find each will be a big help on the '80.
