Default considering a new carb

Hi all,
I'm looking at an ebay carb that fits the standard 300HP 4sp.

My car is the 350HP 4sp. Finding the right number carb for my engine is very difficult.

The seller seems to be very knowledgeable and is will to modify the base carb as needed to fit the 350HP specs.

Lars advised me to find any virgin Q-jet and have it rebuilt properly. This one fits the description and has somewhat of an advantage being it is off a Corvette (not much).

I don't know if it's worth the expense of getting "close". Any opinions?

Thanks,
Greg

By 'virgin' carb, Lars meant a complete Q-jet of the proper part number and model year....not a Frankenstein made from pieces of several different carbs. It it were Lars doing the building, I'd take it in a minute. Anyone else.....I'd pass. Now, if he has a complete & correct carb and will rebuild it properly...and the price is decent....maybe.
