Anyone out there have some experience with a good adhesive to seal-up some cracks in nylon molded parts? It needs to withstand moderate stress and be waterproof. I'm working on my 5-port windshield washer/pump body. There are a couple of small cracks coming from 2 of the cover screw hole areas and running just a little bit into the pump body. I'm not sure that "SuperGlue" [cyanoacrylate] is the right stuff for nylon materials. Advice welcome, please!!
Hi 7T1,
Just yesterday I sent someone an article from the NCRS RESTORER about rebuilding the 5 port pump. It suggests using PLASTRUCT solvent (it's a liquid that comes in a little plastic bottle with a brush in the lid) from the hobby shop to repair the nylon parts. If you'd like a copy of the article send me a fax # and I'll send it to you tomorrow.
Regards,
Alan
I haven't read the article Alan referred to yet, and I do not know what that piece is made of but I have very good success using this SEM product on multiple plastics that nothing else would work on.
