Default 1972 coupe

Well I bought this car about 2 years age and it has just sat in my garage. The last few weeks I have started working on it. I have all of the interior out and about 95% of the paint off the car now. I get discouraged about alot of things. This is my first corvette to restore so I will be asking alot of questions in the near future. This is a numbers matching car that was originally steet cities grey. Don't know what color I will be going back with. I like blue. Wil post pictures as soon as I can figure out how to do that.

If you have any questions let me know and I'll help you out.

Welcome to the forum, and congrats on the '72. There is a good friend of mine, also a member here, named Sully1882 who has a 1972 that's that same color. He knows that car very well. If you have any questions pertaining specifically to your year he will have some good answers for you.

He is also repainting his, but he is sticking with the SCG color and based on how much I LOVE that color that's what I hope you go with.

If you are keeping the car in original condition, think long and hard before you change the color of the car. If you are keeping it "forever", make it the color you really want. But if you think you might sell it in the next 10 years, changing the color will just cut the sales prices by a couple of "K" [or more].

Steel Cities Grey is one of the best C3 colors ever IMO. Since the car is all original I would vote for keeping the original color. You will spend thousands of $ on a good paint job and if you change the color you will not get back the $ invested in the paint job when you sell it.

Hi,
You can get lots of help and advice here with your project.
I ALWAYS vote for the original color. BUT, it's your car so....
Regards,
Alan

PS: I've found that if you fill out at least some of your profile it helps people answer your questions more thoroughly.
