I'm curious, you'd have to go with a telescoping halfshaft or solid axle or you'd pull the halfshaft clip right out when you went to raise the car.
I appreciate what you're doing. I appreciate when anyone is willing to put some elbow greese into something to get what they want. Would love to see some pics of your setup underneath.
actually that's not intirely accurate, it has the stock half shafts... and they donnot "slide out"... they weren't designed that way
if that was the case everytime you hit a good sized pothole, they'd fall out...

thanks for the positive feedback tho

Yeah but you have some serious travel there. I would estimate close to or over 4 inches from drop to 4x4 height. I can't imagine the stock halfshaft having that much play in it.
To run the car lower than stock have you adjusted the height of the differential to correct your halfshaft angles? Meaning with your car dropped to the heigh you want it, are your halfshafts still parallel to the ground? When those halfshafts go to funky angles it puts major stress on the Ujoints which could give you a premature suprise when a broken halfshaft comes to visit your battery/storage tray. I've been battling the halfshaft angle/ride height issue to the point that I have the ride heigh a little higher than I prefer b/c I want my halfshafts at the proper angle. Eventually i will look into raising the differential to get my desired ride height. I assume pics of your setup are privledged information for the time being?

yes u are right... at ride height the shafts are parallel to the ground and i never plan on driving at full lift nor at full drop so i'm good in that department
yes the rear and front bag setups are classified info at the moment

And it will drag on every bump in the road. I know, my side pipes sat that low and I had to remove them after a few days. It will take a lot more to change that one back.

So the entire air and bag system is for sitting still only? Like sitting in traffic? Car shows? Can the car raise and lower itself if you are not in it? Like maybe with a remote fob?

most airbag setups are used for shows...... unless you really want to drag/sparks/etc ....most riders will adjust to ride height when cruising and might slam it at a light or when parked....

theres different air management setups...... fronts/back/side/ full corners..... all depends on the use and how much you want to do with it....

How much does an average bag setup cost? Assuming the OPs is better than average, how much would someone pay if they wanted to bag their Vette and still did some of the work themselves?

I think that's all I want is the front done just to get over high speed bumps and in/out of low driveways.

yeah...then you can get away with a simple setup then......

you just need 2 airbags/small tank/1 compressor/1 valve/gauge/1 switch...easy

you might even be able to order that setup for cheap too...... check craigslist

Looks like you've done a heck of a lot of work...looks great! Can't wait to see the final deal with new paint and wheels...I did a custom interior for my '77, so I know the gratifying feeling of accomplishment...besides you did it for yourself...right!
So...Enjoy the fruits of your own labour!

Air bag setups can range by alot! I have designed and installed several setups and I can tell you most of them were in the 8k range for a full on custon setup. The cheapest setup was on a thunderbird and it was still 2500.
