I was at the Mandalay Bay earlier this week and saw them gearing up for it. They put a bright green Lamboghini Murcielago roadster in the lobby. I would have loved to stay to at least see what was being brought in, would have made for a heck of a car show if nothing else.
I was at Hershey last week and nothing made it through without the seller waiving the reserve while I was sitting in the audience watching. They had like 15 of those Hertz Mustang GT-Hs and no one went over 37 for them and they just rolled them out. There was a guy selling an old woody Plymouth that had the reserve at $100K and he got around $60K for it.
All the cars in the car corral had their prices crossed off and lowered several thousand. Terrible week to be selling expensive toys.
I watched some. I saw a small block '66 coupe go for $57,000. I didn't quite get that one, does anyone know what the buyer's premium is? If I guess 5%, that would mean someone is shelling out $59,850 for a small block coupe? I admit to not being very knowledgable about C2s, but $60K for that? I don't get it. About 20 minutes later, a small block '67 convertible went for $50K. I thought '67 was a more desireable year than '66, no? Also, I would think the convertible would be more desirable. Maybe I'll wander over to the C2 guys and ask.

$57,000 for a real nice 350 horse small block coupe is market correct. 67 convertibles generally bring more but yellow and an incorrect big block hood hurt it's value. Not to mention the interior looked rough on a close up shot. I suspect in person it did not show well. Also the luggage rack does not enhance it's value.
Heck I like the 3 wheeler with the Keith Black Hemi. Sold for less than you'd pay for the motor. Pull that motor and the rest is junk...oh it also had an 1100cc honda motor for the hydraulics. Worth a couple bucks
Craig Jackson gets under my skin. He looks like a drunk looking for a fix. You would think with all the money he pulls in, he could spring for an electric wheel chair for his mom.
