Sure, now that its cold and wet and the vette is put away, gas comes down - go figure. It hit $2.28 for 10%ethanol blend today. Little over a month ago we were paying $3.50.

K_moisen....Wow! I guess we should be more appreciative here in the States. One of my good friends, Roger Justesen, is from Denmark. When his relatives visited they had a cool word (something like "ull"). Made it easy to ask for a beer when you had too much to drink. Excuse the spelling....abliskivers and fricidela for breakfast.

Yeah, I hear you but don't worry...................I bet long before spring it'll be back up there around $3.50-$4.00.

Here in Spain i pay 1 euro per litre of gas..... it´s expensive but it`s my hobbie and i have no posibility of choice and now it´s cheap in irak war time i pay 1.80 euros per litre of gas...
Isn't it odd that gasoline prices approached $5.00 a gallon when oil was $140 a barrel and now that oil is only $67 a barrel, a 52% decrease, the pump prices are only down about 25%? When oil was around $80 a barrel, the prices were lower than they are now. When the price of crude went up, the pump prices shot up with the explanation that the raw material just costs more. Now that it costs less, why aren't the oil companies satisfied with their "standard 8% profit" that we heard so much about? I mean, where is that extra margin going now? Here in Northern California I had been paying as much as $4.90 a gallon for premium. I'm buying it for about $3.70 a gallon now. Somebody has to be making more profit on a gallon. No?
BTW, while I feel nothing but sympathy for our European brother car enthusiasts, we need to remember that their countries are not much bigger than the average county in Texas and their infrastructure and economy has never been based on cheap energy. On the other hand, our infrastructure (massive regional and interstate highway systems and suburban sprawl) was created differently by leaders with a "vision" in the 1950s and 60s. That was largely to accommodate the land developers, who became filthy rich from turning farms and orchards into tract housing, but that is our legacy and we can't absorb those high energy prices because we drive a heck of a lot more miles than the average European. That was all based on cheap energy, so it's our government's and our corporation's duty to provide that cheap energy.

I agree with you , but i don´t understand why here in Europe gas price is f**kin high the barrel prices are down but petrol stations and government continues with high prices on a litre of gas....It ¡s very sad but it`s europeans reality...Well i think that i´m lucky cos now i have a good work with a good pay and now i can pay gas without problems but i think it´s not correct high prices on gas while barrel prices are going down....

Alexander...I don't know about Spain, the U.S. economy revolves around driving, so people here compalin loudly when the gas prices don't drop with the oil prices.
