Only the gas gauge said it uses the original sending unit. This may be a lot of work to install and relay all the other sending units to the other gauges, but I think personally, that I would enjoy digital gauges. Too bad they only recommend the kit for 78 to 82s!

Guages were meant to be glanced at when driving/racing. A needle pointing waaaay into the high end on a water temp guage will get noticed long before a number that changed from say 180 to 260+ !! Racers in the old days would rotate their guages so that all the needles pointed straight up (or close to it) when everything is operating "ok". That way you're glancing to see the odd man out when running down the track..........
Jim's66, that's exactly what I was going to say. For instance, I know on mine that 70mph, which is what I normally drive on the interstate is straight up on the speedo, so I never have to acutally look at it. It just so happens that the tach also points straight up at 70, so when my speedo cable was busted, is was just as easy to see my speed by glancing at the tach.
I thought about digital gauges, but decided that I really wanted to keep some of the old look of the interior. I decided to just replace all the gauges with Autometer white face gauges. I figured way I could have an updated appearance while keeping the analog gauges.

Thanks. Hey....., exactly what color is your car ?? I really think it looks neat. I have a buddy who's getting a '63 split window tube frame racer ready for paint and think it would look really nice with the same color.
I would never buy ANYTHING from a J.C. Whitney catalog again. Most of the stuff is absolute crap. I had a problem with an exhaust system that was supposed to fit my '68 Camaro and it wasn't even close. They gave me such a hard time about returning it too. The customer service dept. sucks and most of their crap is made overseas and is of poor quality. Don't do it (That's my 2 cents).
step away from the Digital gauges !!
some one in the future will be screaming bad things,
at whom ever cut up thier Corvette.
Really keep the Analog gauges.. 69VETT
I have seen the white face gauges, and IMHO, the give the interior of a C3 an updated look without sacraficing the nostalgic feel of car. Of course this all depends on what you are looking to do with your car design-wise.

Reguarding the Dakota Digital, dont get too worried about color, its very easy to change display color, Dakota ships with Blue or Green, they change color by changing the lenz, you can either hit Persision plastic for a custome tint lenz, or you can go with a smoked clear and use Theratical Gel which is what I did for my green.
