Default Barstool racer update...

Yes, I know this is not vette related....

Told you guys a few weeks ago I was building a barstool racer for car shows and swap meets. Still going with the ratrod inspired look; dropped front frame "Model A", seat will be tuck and rolled, faux front leaf spring. Frame will flat black with some pinstripping.

So far it's turning out nice and a lot of fun to build. I still need to design a throttle. I have one of those old time "foot shaped" gas pedals, but no where to mount it.

I have always liked the idea of the barstool and think it would be cool to have one. I saw an episode on Horse Power TV where they had one and took it to the drag strip. One of the guys crashed hard on it. That part was not cool.

Bring it to BG next year and we can watch Capt. Chaos run it around the parking lot a few times.

I'm keeping Jim away from it. By the time I went to the beer tap he would have a big block in it. We might have to install a small shot of Nitrous on it.

Speaking of beer tap, Use a mini keg as the fuel cell and a tap handle as the the throttle. Just a thought. Of course, that would reduce the bar stool to one handed driving.

Still trying to figure out a cup holder for the beer. Like the keg handle idea.

How about tap handles for foot pegs?

There ya' go! Tap handles aren't very strong though. You would have to reinforce them somehow. Maybe a steel rod through the center.

Nice project. A hand throttle from motorbike parts and maybe a mountain bike disc brake would work.

Those things are a quick trip to the hospital. One of my customers (a custom motorcycle builder) had one at his shop. He and his fabricator both rode it and had plenty of brusies to show for it. They tell me to try it. I'm squeezing the throttle like a chicken sh## (no medical coverage) and it kicks in all at once. That quick, and I'm on two wheels! I set it down straight and parked it. Never again. /:\

If you noticed mine is extended to push weight forward and the seat is lower than normal to get you closer to the ground. It should feel similar to riding a ATV. Also going to add a wheelie bar.

Trust me, there will be a limiter on this one.

I used to keep one of those in my basement fridge but I haven't seen them for sale for several years.

Funny I built five of them and Paul posted the pic , the purple one is mine and was clocked by the OPP at 31 mph, the green one in the back ground is my sons , his fuel tank is from SLEEMAN's beer!! The last one I built came with a small trailer made to fit a 24 beer !!!!
