Did 1972 350 four speed cars come with a smog pump?
Mine did not and the exhaust manifolds did not have the AIR Injector fittings.
Can anyone shed some light on this?
Hey, I just read my NCRS technical manual and it states "Those cars equipped with AIR systems included all LT1s, all 454 engines, 1972 base engines (200 hp) and all delivered for sale in California" I stand corrected
This has been discussed before and the 4th edition NCRS manual seems to be wrong. I think the answer to your question is no unless your car was delivered in CA.
The L-48 engines in '71 & '72 did not have the A.I.R. pump system...emissions was limited to C.E.C. and T.C.S. systems on the engine [not to mention the 8.5:1 compression ratio]
