Storage - Chicago area
Hi all,
I've run into an unanticipated speed bump. I have to store the car this winter off site for space reasons and I had planned on renting a space at the local storage facility. However, everything I see is $175/mo - $400/mo for a space.
Anyone in the Chicago area have any knowledge they can drop my way on find an economical place to store the thing for a few months? I was aiming for $100/mo or less.

I stored my 2002 Ram Air T/A in Antioch for $125 a month at a storage joint off of Route 83. No heat
Try cruising some of the retirement communities and look for an empty garage. Then go from there. My buddy stored a C5 from an older lady that didn't have a car and he paid $175 for all winter.

I used to rent a 2 car garage from a really nice older lady for $15/month. Kept my '76 and my Baja Bug in there. Wish I could find a deal like that again.

Don't forget to change your insurance to storage. I did it and it was almost nothing to pay monthly. Will help with storage fees. Storage blds are expensive in Chicago. Try going out to rural areas
