Concept looks good, but I'd keep the inner stripe edges straight like the tape mock-up. It flows much better with the raised hood and lines of the car. On second thought, I see why you did that, so maybe they gently curve to line up with the edges if the hood bulge. I'd play around with it for a while more before you paint it.

 

Yah, I wasn't sure how to navigate and make the stripes look as if they weren't done at different times, yet go along the lines of the hood.

Oh and i'm not the owner, just a member who has too much time on his hands.

We'll see what the owner thinks

 

My project is removing and updating the engine in my 77 Coupe.



The old 68 Camaro engine is out of the car now and we will deal with that later. Had help, lots of hands on help and a bunch of advice thus far, so thanks to all.



Here are the Hooker Headers sitting on the new GM 350HO engine for a dry fit. Awaiting arrival of the Tremec TKO500 Five Speed kit I ordered at the end of the year.

Cleaning up the engine bay now, all parts are out that are coming out for painting, powder coating. Radiator support frame out for powder coating. Having a ball.

As John said earlier...Its All Good.

I have not worked on it lately, other project got in the way.72 custom

 

My winter project was simply to:
- rebuild the M-20 (done)
- put in a new clutch (done)
- that led to rebuilding the linkage (new springs, clutch/pivot *****, etc)
- that led to let's put in a new Hurst shifter, boots, etc (done)....
Of course installing the new shifter and boots requires disassembly of part of the console, so...
- that has led to...why not put in a new radio while I'm doing this (since my original is non-functional), just got the radio, going simple here with one of those new "Retro-Sound" units....looks pretty cool, fits in the bezel real nice.
- that led to let's put in some new dash speakers (installed -Alpine 4X6's),
- that led to let's disassemble the dash and fix the clock, clean up all the other gauges, and install a new radio bezel (in process)
- that led to let's replace the console (done)
- that led to let's rebuild the heater controls/wheels since they look like crap too (done),
- that led to it's easier to install the new console/brake cover with the seats out
- that led to let's recover/re-stuff the seats (in process, got one done).

Should be ready for Spring!

Here are a few pics of my dash disassembled with the new shifter in (before I took the seats out) .....rebuilding the tranny on this was easier I think than working on these stinkin dashes.

I"ll post some of the finshed project, once I get the radio and seats in.

There is no rest for the wicked...... I swear it. Is true.

I purchased the car new in 1980 and drove the crap out of it. I parked it in 1992.



So I decided to get off my azz and started working on it in Dec. 2004. It turned into a body off nightmare.



I had to move everything... unfinished body, frame and all the parts and tools. 3x due to people selling their property.



I bumped my head comming up short from under the car when someone yelled boobies!!



So I built a ramp and this is where I am at right now. The ramp is stronger then the Mackinaw Bridge. If it was'nt safe I would not work under it.



The body is on, The engine is running and I will start work on the interior electrical when it warms up a bit. I swear no rest.
