This is a Febuary(B) build date.Missing the correct heads, and intake. They were stolen. All the other parts are there, but need to know the range that are acceptable for the heads, and the intake. The heads could be 186s,or 414s right?
Thanks for any imput, and help......Then the next question......you have these for sale???

Right on the numbers. 6 month window, I try to stay close if possible. If I remember, there was a post on the NCRS or resto forum here. Guy had a set of late 69 186's. Small valve though. You'd need to enlarge. I'll see if I can find it

Six months prior to engine assembly date is acceptable. Closer is better. My '68 small block was assembed on April 9th and has an April 1st casting date. One head was cast on March 28th; second was cast April 3rd. Intake cast on April 1.

Do not use the Time/Build date on the trim tag. The original engine had already been assembled and shipped to St. Louis by that date. Use the engine stamp on the block and date your parts accordingly.

yes, also watch out for too close of a date, I have seen a casting date of march 5 of the block, and engine assemble date of march 20, an intake manifold date of march 25 and car build date ( trim tag) of april 15..
these are all before the trim tag date.. and seemingly OK, but the manifold was cast after the engine assembly date.... that can't happen....

That's a casting date. Engine assembly date on the pad will have to be after January 15th. Just the same, a January 15th casting date for a car assembled in early February is pretty good.
