A friend of mine made the comment "anyone who loves their car always backs it in". Got me wondering as to how true it may be.
Not true!! I know people that pull in and buy the best parts for their Vette
I made a comment before.if you love your Vette don't buy cheap parts for it.I think my comment stands better! . By the way I back it in!
I PULL IN FOR 2 REASONS. the 1st is for fumes to not fill house and the 2nd is so gas tank is not right next to my furnace. if i backed in and got a tank leak it wouldnt be too pretty.
I pull in so that when I start the car it doesn't fill the garage up
with exhaust fumes (carbon monoxide), can't breathe to well with
that stuff filling the air.
Putting my car in the garage is a real PITA! I have to cram 3 cars, a riding mower, pushmower, snowblower, weed eater, and a fertilizer into a 2 car garage. My camaro is jammed in the back corner, with my Vette jimmyed in next to it with the center post of between the garage doors right in front of it. My mom then gets the other half of the garage to pull her car in. So to get my car out, I have to pull my mom's car out, push my car forward to get the riding mower out from behind it, and then wiggle my car back and forth enough to get out of the door on my mom's side of the garage.
To get it back in, it's a reverse of that.
Out in public, I always back it in spots far away from everyone.
The only place I don't back in is in teh garage ,and that's because it's physically impossible the way my garage is situated. Otherwise, even my DD gets backed into the driveway. If you were ever safety trained driving a truck they tell you to always back in when you park. That way when you get back in, you're starting off going forward, and have a better chance of seeing something in your way if it's in front of you, rather than backing up and not seeing what's behind you.
well, majority of you have proved my friend's comment wrong. I do back mine though (that's what sparked his comment), but although it is a habit now, it was started because the car idles bad at start up and it is tricky to get it into reverse and back up w/o stalling out.

slow night...Bama's loosing at the Sugar Bowl...I always pull both Corvettes into the garage but always back into a parking spot; easier to park and no way to scrape the front bumper.
