If you're going to throw an Earl Scheib paint job on there, it doesn't matter what color you decide to paint it.
"I'll paint any car for $199.99!"
The worst paint jobs that I've ever seen, anywhere have been done by Earl Scheib. I could do a better job blind folded with 1K paint. I really hope that you're not him.
Lemans Blue is a very sought after color, especially if the trim tag is there to match. I don't speek for all but, I for one belive that a car should re mane the color it was born with unless it's a custom. If you are going to sell the car your chances of getting a larger return are better with the original color.
LeMans blue is a popular color and I believe it will foward the sale way more than detract from it. Since you are doing the car stock for resale. Keep the stock color. If it's a restomod or custom do what you want.
I had a 67 convertible former BB 435 Horse that was replaced with a 327. The car was originally green with white convertible top. I painted it black with red stinger on hood, with black top and interior. The original green would have done nothing for that car since it didn't have the original engine, but when black, everyone loved it and it sold for a very handsome amount.
Paint it the original blue. You stated that every other 69 was blue? I differ with that statement. I find blue while a popular color hard to find on a 69 with the original 976 code on the tag.
LeMans,Marina,Nassau Blue is a great color 976 code,
In 68 chevy painted 4,722 Corvettes blue, 2nd most color picked, green was # 1 , with 4,779 made.

hahaha! I'm not.....if I was, I'd be dead He spells his name a little differently, btw...
My stuff turns out a little better.....my last magazine featured work is the 67 roadster in the Feb issue of "Corvette Enthusiast"
I'm confident the 69 won't look like a $29.95 special

I love the factory blue on the 69. But, the LeMans blue of the C5 is beautiful as well.
I bougth a 73 with a 75 nose on it. Other than that, the car is really nice - numbers matching 350 TH400 Custom interior, A/C PS, PW, PB, rear defrost, originally Metallic Yellow (gold). Someone has painted it "resale red" and put it on ebay back in 2001. The guy I bought it from was a newbie to The Corvette world and paid too much for it. He kept it for a few years and drove it only 3 times. Had a baby, was moving and needed to unload the car.
I got it back on the road and drove it for a few months. The paint got damaged in a severe wind storm, and the insurance company agreed to do a complete repaint. I toyed with the idea of replacing the nose with an original 73, and going back to Metallic Yellow, but couldn't justify the extra $5K in cost, so I did the next best thing.
TORCH RED!!!
I plan to drive it for a while before I decide to sell it.
To me, this is a slam dunk no brainer, and I'm usually one of the ones saying paint it whatever color you like, it's your car. In this case, if the only concern is maximum dollars at selling time, there is no other option than the factory correct blue.
