Motion also sold bits and kits direct to consumers thru mail order, a la carte. Still have an old catalog somewhere if it hasn't crumbled into dust (newsprint) along with a vintage decal, but have no idea where to start looking; so don't ask...
I have one too. I think I was drooling over some goofy tilt nose or something I couldn't afford. He did sell the ribbed valve covers with MOTION in the centers, didn't he? And the gas caps?
Motion Performance did modify cars that were then sold as brand new through Baldwin Chevrolet. Also, anyone could take any car to Motion at any time to have it modified. They also did a huge mail-order business.
I have heard for years that Motion did 1 or 2 ZL1 conversions, but none have turned up yet. This car could very well have been taken to Motion & had a ZL1 engine installed and body work done. It didn't have to be brand new.
This Motion Vega showed up at a local cruise last summer. First time I've seen one of these. Looked legit, but who knows for sure if it's authentic. Didn't see the owner while I was there.
