They "should" follow ISO standards and be the same, but I still can get the USA Timkens and will continue to use them as long as I can get them. I have not found any automotive supplier that stocks usa bearings around here, NAPA, Advance auto, Auto zone, independents all have imports on their shelves. The choice is yours, I just want to be sure everyone is aware of what is going on these days. Some catalogs have parts that look great in print, installing them in the car may be different. It's also true you have to ask for the usa stuff otherwise, no questions asked, may get you imports with an excuse if you later question them. Good luck.

Hey, I was hoping that you would respond to my post #14
How do I make sure that I don't over grease the bearing?

Those are the procedures for the front alright. I tighten them while turning, back off and do it again, then finger tight them and back off 1/2 flat or less to align the holes and install the cotter pin. If too loose then I grind the back of the nut a 001 at a time until I get 002-003 endplay. They should spin smooth. The bearings I pack by hand the old way, I also put a little grease in between them but leave room for expansion, which would go into the cap. I don't pack any in the cap,no need to.

Just an FYI - Talked to Dan at Van Steel, he says that all their Timken bearings are the USA Timkens.

Just got my Timkens from Van Steel approx. 2 weeks ago. 100% made in USA. Cost a little more than running down to the local parts supplier but I opted for peace of mind.......
