i have 69 stock side exhaust i stripped the paint @ i'm having it repainted does anyone know or have any ideas on how to make the covers look like new thanks pete
Hi Pete,
I'm not quite sure what you're asking.
The 69 side exhaust covers are chrome plated. Are you asking about the small part of the semigloss black insulator that you can see right below the door?
Perhaps you have the aftermarket fiberglass covers that have been painted.
Regards,
Alan
Hi Pete,
The original side exhaust covers were made of cast aluminum. They were chrome plated and the grooves were painted very dark gray metallic. The covers bolted to fiberglass insulators which were painted black.
Original covers can be re-plated, depending on the condition. The cost for replating the six pieces is often as much or more than the cost of the Paragon reproductions. $1145.00.
Regards,
Alan
