I'm going to tackle this tomorrow (Sunday). The doors are off the car, in prep for painting. I'm swapping to power windows in the process. Want to gut the doors now, then reassemble after painting.
I suggest you loosen the 2 top stops and wind the window up so the regulator track be unbolted from the bottom center of the window with the glass still in the door. Then you can pull the glass up out of the two tracks, remove each track and then the regulator.
There's a lot of bits and pieces but it's pretty straight forward once you look at it closely.

All done! Actually a piece of cake once I got into it. First one took about an hour, second one about 15 minutes.
