2 questions:

Are they even the right mirror(s) for a 70?

Did they use 2 mirrors in 1970?

The location of the vin and font of the stamp is exactly what didn't look correct to me. This LT-1 is a very close build to mine. My car also has V0203CTU and this car's does not look the same as mine or other LT-1s with the same engine build date that I have seen. The mirrors are not correct for a 70.

Hi mstanton,
You make the same point that the well known stamp person often makes. He likes to see pads that were done at similar times to the one he's looking at to get a sense of what was happening that day or week. If you see somthing odd on one pad, but you also see it the day before and two days after, you may see a pattern.
Regards,
Alan

DESIRABILITY:
Need we even talk about this...

Well, YES! Let's see...a falsified 70 LT-1 that you're asking almost $40k for? By the looks of the block stamp, I'd stop there! Where's the beef? No pics of the engine bay? Other LT1 points? You've got the POP(can be bought), but you didn't pay the extra $200 to get the false Build sheet?
I'd say not very desirable at all!

it's a small block convertible without a muffler and a faked stamp pad a cracked fender and a repaired end cap frame, mismatched tires, rusted radiator support... wonder what the cast date on the engine is?

maybe the documentation proves it is a real LT1, but I bet the engine is not original,

but if so, then it is a real LT1 convertible with Doc and restamped engine ( original or not ) that needs some work. radiator core rust usually means frame rust and birdcage rust and windshield frame rust.. i would need 100 more pics to even decide if I wanted to go look at it..

Not sure what the reason was..That's the way Tonowanda did it, Flint did it differently for the sb.......Last year I almost dropped $$$$ on a fake L-71 restamp. The first clue was the stamp VIN and Date were "in line".....the date / engine code side should have been closer to the head. Whoever restamped it did it with the head on.....

It must be because the plugs in the front of the heads on the BB would get in the way of the gang holder.
Also probably the reason that the VIN stamp locations from SB to BB are reversed; to give more room
to the guys at STL to make the VIN stamp without the plug in the way.

looks like it went for 29k. given the questionable frame, engine stamping, and who knows what else I'm surprised he did as well as he did.

Apparently someone bought it for $29k. I don't like the pad, either.

PS: its not illegal to say "ebay" or post a link to auctions that aren't yours.
